ComHabitat Website Guide
Welcome to the ComHabitat website. The aim of this site is not only to provide information about the work of ComHabitat but also to offer a resource centre where website links and documents relevant to human settlement issues in the Commonwealth can easily be obtained.
The website content is created and maintained by the ComHabitat Secretariat. It is designed and hosted by Edeptive, whose generous support is gratefully acknowledged.
Site structure and links
On each page of the site, relevant documents and links are listed in the blue bar on the left of the page. Documents are provided in PDF (portable document format). To read them you will need software such as Adobe Reader, which is usually present on most computers but which otherwise can be downloaded here. Email kim@comhabitat.org if you have limited internet access and would like documents to be sent to you as email attachments.
Links within the main text are highlighted in blue. Links to other websites show the URL of the site if hovered on, and always open in a new window. Internal links to other parts of the ComHabitat website open in the current window. To keep the existing page open and open the new page in its own window, right-click the link and choose 'Open Link in New Window'.
If a link takes you to a PDF document hosted on another website, the linking text will show the size of the document so you can decide whether or not to follow the link if you are using a slow internet connection.
Glossary links have a dotted underline and aim to explain a particular technical term or acronym. The glossary can also be read in its entirety.
